I’ve never taken a date to my high school prom, but I have been an integral part of the Night to Shine four times. The program is a real prom night experience for persons with disabilities ages 14 and older, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. I work as an arrival assistant (open the car doors when limousines carrying our special guests arrive) and later as a meal server, for four of the seven years that Night to Shine has held their prom. A Night to Shine is a special time of the year for me and is both fun and humbling, as it reminds me to appreciate my health and to help others in need. This past year, more than 100,000 honored guests from all over the world were hosted by 655 churches with the support of 200,000 volunteers. I am proud to say I am one of them.
